A Living Ruin and Urban Croft
As part of a phased approach to a fuller redevelopment, the stabilisation of the Winter Gardens structure is Phase 1. This would come with lighting, pathways and permanent heritage interpretation to enable the building to once again be part of the community.
Following the stabilisation, work would begin on an Urban Croft, repurposing the Victorian garden to the rear of the Winter Gardens structure itself. This would be a place for the community to play, relax and enjoy opportunities to participate in gardening. allotments, food events, a market garden, festivals and many other activities!
Collective Architecture undertook design and structural survey work to develop Phase 1 – the Living Ruin and Urban Croft.
The Trust is embarking on full fundraising endeavours to make this happen from 2023/24.
